![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The storage comes in capacities of 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB depending on the MacBook chosen but it can be configured up to 1TB of PCIe-based flash. The new features include 5 th generation Intel core i5 and i7 processors, the new force track pad, an additional hour of battery life, and of course what is most interesting to us here at StorageReview, Apple claims that the new flash is twice as fast. There were a few other announcements as well including the re-launch of the MacBook (which was discontinued in July of 2011 in favor of the MacBook Air) that is thinner than the MacBook Air. The MacBook comes with Apple’s new butterfly-mechanism keyboard and new force track pad. More of an interest to us was the new MacBook Pro 13” and its new features including a new Samsung SSD inside. ![]() Most notably was its new smart watch, the Apple Watch (or colloquially referred to as the iWatch by its fans and detractors alike). I am not sure if I can trust the system with an EVO SSD.A few weeks ago Apple held an event in San Francisco to showcase the new additions to its product line. I even changed the adapter from the Kalea to System-S converter card ( ). I tried to simulate the situation of running couple of VMs and do a stress and load test, but the System booted correctly. I changed back the SSD disk and voila it booted, I swap again to the EVO 1TB and it booted too. Next day (I thought it was maybe to hot) I tried it again but nothing. I could hear the fans, but no start sound or any output on the screen, tried a PRAM reset but nothing. In the evening I had to work with a couple of VMs and system was running under full load, I finished and shutdown the system.īut afterwards the mac didn't want to boot. Yesterday (26 of Feb.) I made an APFS disk, cloned the original disk, swaped the SSD bars and booted.Įverything worked as expected, I could work a whole day without any Issues. So I decided to with to an Samsung 970 Evo 1TB. Because I alway ran out of storage I wanted to upgrade to an Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1TB.įor reasons I don't know I couldn't clone the system to that SSD (CCC always crashed after 30-40GB). I have an Macbook Pro Mid 2015 with an 512GB SSD. ![]()
